As a registered dietitian nutritionist and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, I am bound by the Code of Ethics for the Dietetics Profession. The Code requires that I conduct myself with honesty and promote high standards of professional practice.

Please understand that I use evidence-based practice. While I respect the opinions of many, I am professionally and morally obligated to use critical thinking, conscientious decision-making, and a high level of scientific interpretation before I support any statement made about nutrition. As a personal side note, I went to graduate school for 3 years studying nutrition & food science, and completed over 1700 supervised practice hours in the nutrition & dietetics field, in order to earn my credentials.

That being said, I strongly encourage EVERYONE to use their own critical thinking skills about which types of nutrition professionals are qualified to provide reliable nutrition information.

Please read my FAQ here about the difference between a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) and someone with the title 'Nutritionist'.
